PAY US A VISIT
Our primary gathering is our Sunday worship service, which meets at 10:30 AM at 3746 Prospect Ave. People generally begin arriving around 10 AM. Services last around 90 minutes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We hope you’ll find that we’re a welcoming and friendly community that makes you feel at home. Some of us dress very casually, some a little more formally. When you arrive you’ll likely be greeted by one or more volunteers who can help you answer any questions you have. Before and after service, you’ll find many of us conversing over a cup of locally roasted coffee. If you arrive particularly early, you may hear our music team rehearsing still, but trust us—-that’s no big deal. Our goal really is that you feel welcome, however and whenever you come.
WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?
We believe that Christians are people who are shaped by God’s word, and it’s God’s word that calls unbelievers to become believers. It’s been said that when Christians meet, they ought to see the word, hear the word, pray the word, preach the word, and sing the word.
We see the word in the ordinances (or sacraments) of baptism (the entrance rite to the Christian faith) and the Lord’s Supper (the ongoing rite of the Christian faith). We hear the word as its read aloud. We pray the word by offering prayers that are rooted in the promises of God’s word. We preach the word by listening to sermons that explain and apply the scriptures. And we sing the word by singing songs that are rooted in the language and message of scripture. Except seeing the word, we try to include all of these elements every Sunday. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month and baptisms as people are ready to commit to following Christ.
